Hen party ideas from cheap to chic

Well, what a year it has been...Hope you're all ok and staying safe.

I thought may be now is a good time to resurrect my hen party help website. Please bear with me as I update it! I realise that some things may be a little out of date - or you might have you own ideas you think would be good for the site. Please drop me a line help@henpartyhelp with any thoughts you have.

Hen party ideas!

After being asked to be a bridesmaid six times in my twenties and thirties (!), and endless trawling on the net looking for inspiration, I thought I would set up a site to help others who are arranging a hen party. How about wine tasting or a cocktail making class? Other ideas include a day at the races, go-karting and a spa day.

How about making up a poem for the bride to be? Click here for some hen party poem ideas.

Would you like a personal poem writing for the bride to be? I offer a bespoke poem writing service so please be in touch by email to help@henpartyhelp.co.uk and I will get back to you to discuss what you'd like in your rhyme.

Hen parties - seven things to remember!

  1. Look after the bride to be at all times.
  2. Delegate one bridesmaid to look after different parts of the celebration.
  3. Book as much as you can in advance.
  4. Think about having a kitty for drinks or things that you are all doing together.
  5. Definitely ask if there are private areas in bars and nightclubs as it means you can form a base as people go off to buy drinks/dance/snog handsome men.
  6. Think about booking taxis to bring you back to the hotel after clubbing. Your new friends will appreciate your expert planning if there are three taxis ready and waiting to take the survivors home.
  7. .... And finally.....bear in mind, is it still your hen do to go? Needless to say, this might affect what you insist the bride does in terms of strippers, fancy dress, drinking games and dares. She will only want revenge!!

My main hen party tip

Read our hen party blog for lots more tips and advice for anyone organising a hen do, including an article on how to throw a cheap hen party.  I think my main tip would be try and book as many things as possible in advance - travel, activities, restaurants, bars etc. Avoid leaving stuff until the last minute.

Ring up possible venues and have a chat with them. This way you'll know what's possible and you can also use their local knowledge - ask them whether you can walk there from the hotel, have they got any recommendations as to where to go afterwards, are there any good activities for hen parties to do in that area etc. And I think that private rooms are fantastic for having fun packed hen party meals and the room all to yourself!
